The employees of the University Computing Center are working at full speed to eliminate the threats posed by the cyberattack on our IT infrastructure. The measures to close the security gaps are being continued and IT services (e-mail communication, etc.) are being successively reconnected.

  • Mobile Windows computers are not allowed to connect to the university data network.
  • connecting a university computer from the university network to a mobile
    hotspot (e.g. a smartphone, etc.) we ask you to refrain from doing so.
  • e-mail communication: Communication via e-mail is currently not possible. After the system has been restored, e-mails will have to be sent again.

News from 30.1.2023 URZ

(1) The e-mail reception as well as the e-mail dispatch has been working again since January 25. All e-mails that have been addressed to us since then have also been delivered.

(2) Since January 27, the decentralized emergency PCs have been available in the isolation network. The Webowa Exchange and Horde Webmail services and the ZFS1 shares can be accessed via them.

Student Union Freiberg and Residence Halls

The online services of the Studentenwerk as well as the internet connection in the dormitories are fully functional again. The employees of the Studentenwerk can be contacted as usual by phone and e-mail again.

Use of the University Library

The UB can be reached on site as usual. Online services of the University Library are not available. There will be restrictions on the use of several services on site.

Borrowing and renewal

PhD Office

It is still possible to complete the "Declarations of Intent" to carry out a doctorate - the form can be filled out directly in the Promotionsamt. Please make an appointment with Ms. Katrin Langer.
